Relieving Suffering: Mexican Earthquakes

Shortly after two powerful earthquakes struck Mexico, Melaleuca opened up its warehouse and donated thousands of Melaleuca’s personal care and cleaning products to the Mexican Red Cross.

In less than two weeks, the country saw toppled buildings, cracked highways and the loss of hundreds of people. While an 8.1 magnitude quake hit near the states of Chiapas and Oaxaca, which are two of the most impoverished areas in the country, it was a 7.1 magnitude earthquake that struck near the capital of Mexico City. Both earthquakes came as a result of the rupture of fault lines within the North American tectonic plate.

Melaleuca’s donation was gratefully received and distributed to families temporarily living in the emergency shelters there.
