Fun in Full Swing at the Melaleuca Cornhole Tournament

Excitement was soaring high as a large crowd of Melaleuca team members gathered to watch their fellow coworkers compete in the finals of the Melaleuca Indoor Cornhole Tournament.

Thirty teams, each consisting of two Melaleuca team members, assembled to compete in a double-elimination tournament. The tournament was designed to foster friendships and build camaraderie, and the games were played during lunch hours. Nine different departments were represented at the tournament.

And team members from Melaleuca Global Headquarters weren’t the only ones to participate in the cornhole tournament. Cornhole tournaments were held for those who work at all Idaho-based Melaleuca facilities. And team members in Knoxville, Tennessee, held their own tournament in October 2022.

“The cornhole tournaments are just one small way we promote an overall sense of wellness,” said Melaleuca Vice President of Human Resources Jamie Reynolds. “We want our team members to be happy, work hard, have fun and connect with each other as more than just work associates.”

In case you are unfamiliar with the sport, cornhole is a popular lawn game that’s a staple at summertime events, but it can be played any time because the tools and rules of the game are simple. Players take turns throwing fabric bean bags at a slanted board with a hole in its far end. The goal of the game is to score points by either landing a bag on the board or putting a bag through the hole.

The cornhole tournament is just one of the events where Melaleuca team members come together for friendly competition. Team members have the opportunity to participate in other events, including a 3-on-3 basketball tournament, a free evening of Pioneer League baseball at Melaleuca Field, 5K and 10K fitness runs, and a popular golf scramble called the MelaMasters.

Other highly anticipated Melaleuca traditions include the annual Melaleuca Family Picnic in the summer, which brings thousands of Melaleuca employees and family members together; it’s an outdoor carnival that rivals a state fair with its share of entertainment, games and a raffle for prizes. In the fall, a trick-or treat spook alley for children and grandchildren of employees conjures thousands of tiny visitors. And the year ends with a Christmas celebration featuring tremendous entertainment and grand prizes that include vacations, high-end electronics and furniture packages.

Since the last bean bag has been thrown (until the next tournament), Melaleuca would like to congratulate the cornhole winners and thank all team members for another great event filled with friendly competition.
