Forbes names Melaleuca one of the America’s best employers for women – used the news release instead

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho—Forbes magazine has named Melaleuca to the list of America’s Best Employers for Women 2021. Melaleuca’s appearance on the list marks the third time in a year that The Wellness Company has been honored by Forbes as a “best employer.” In February 2021, Forbes named Melaleuca to the list of America’s Best Employers, and in 2020, Melaleuca made the Forbes list of America’s Best Employers By State.
Of the 300 companies that rose to the top, Melaleuca is the only Idaho-based company that made the Forbes list. Finalists were selected based on an independent survey of 50,000 employees employed at companies with at least 1,000 workers. The survey questions focused on issues relevant to women in the workplace, with respondents evaluating their employers on topics such as parental leave, family support, flexibility, salary, and diversity among top executives.
The survey, conducted by the national business research group Statista, was anonymous, allowing participants to share opinions openly. In addition to answering questions about their current employer, participants were also asked to give opinions about their employer’s competitors. A final score for the best employers for women was then tallied according to information gathered across the following four categories:
- Direct recommendations (work topics in general): Atmosphere and development, company image, working conditions, salary and wages, workplaces, and employer diversity.
- Direct recommendations (topics relevant for women in particular): Women were asked to rate their employers' parental leave, family support, flexibility, discrimination, representation and career, and pay equity practices.
- Indirect recommendations: Participants were given the chance to evaluate diversity-related practices of competing employers in their respective industries which stand out either positively or negatively. Only the recommendations of women were considered.
- Diversity among top executives/board: An index based on extensive research was built calculating the share of women in executive management or board positions. Statista compiled this data for each business considered using publicly available company information filed between December 2020 and June 2021.
